Bileća Lake

One of the largest and deepest artificial lakes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, formed by the Grančarevo dam in 1967.
Bileća Lake was formed by flooding the Trebišnjica River valley with the construction of the Grančarevo dam in 1967. The lake covers around 33 km² and reaches a maximum depth of 104 metres. It supplies water to the Trebinje hydroelectric plant and is one of the most important fresh-water reservoirs in the region.
The crystal-clear water attracts anglers, swimmers and boating enthusiasts. The lake hosts various nautical events and is especially popular as a summer destination. The shoreline offers views of the surrounding limestone cliffs and green hills, making Bileća Lake one of the most beautiful spots in Republika Srpska.
