A mosque in Grabovice with a rare square minaret, traditionally built by Hasan-paša Predojević in 1572.
The mosque in the settlement of Grabovice, not far from Bileća, was, according to tradition, built in 1572 through the endeavours of Hasan-paša Predojević, a descendant of an Islamised noble family of the region. It is notable for a rare architectural feature — a square mosque tower in place of the usual slender minaret.
It was registered as a cultural monument in 1952, although it is not currently in use. Together with the nearby remains of a church belonging to the same family, it bears witness to the intertwined religious and family history of the Predojević line through the centuries.
